Prague to host Azerbaijan- the magical Land of Fire exhibition

Naprstek Museum under the Czech National Museum will hold some educational events as part of the “Azerbaijan- the magical Land of Fire” exhibition. A lecture titled “Azerbaijani traditional carpet weaving art” by Ph.D Zdenka Klimtova will be held on January 31. After the lecture, the guests will have a chance to get acquainted with “Samukh”, one kind of the carpet weaving art in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani famous artist across the globe won the most prestigious VERA World Fine Art Festival, held in Lisbon, Portuguese from September 16 to 21. Being awarded with the prize in "Painting" nomination , Sakit Mammadov got a lot of offers during the festival from the influential galleries in the U.S., UK and Uzbekistan to put his works on display. The UK gallery have even offered the artist to open "Sakit Mammadov's Gallery" in London.

A major film adaptation of one of the Caucasus's best-known literary works is now in the pipeline. Producer Kris Thykier, whose previous film credits include "Stardust" and "Kick Ass," has now snaffled the feature rights to Azerbaijani novel "Ali and Nino."
